Affiliate Content is coming

Well the copy writer starts Tuesday and then the fighting starts in house as to who he works for first.... Certainly we're going to keep him very very busy and it'll be interesting to see how many articles he can produce per day once we get rolling. I've got the programmer booked to build a small "Content Bank" where we can store all the content and then grant access to it.

Likely we'll make it a "register to get access" system so we know who is using the content and we can be sure it's being used for AMWSO merchants.

It's likely we'll start with content being done For GoodTimes, United Shades, Century Fitness and Jobs in Sports then roll into the others.

We're closed Monday and Thursday next week, but as we all know, affiliate marketing never stops :)

Affiliate Tools - Data Cleaner updated

One of the functions I wanted in the data cleaner right from the start was a save function. I use our little affiliate tool every week when cleaning up a number of data feeds before loading them into ShareaSale.com and every time I do a clean I keep wondering if I'm doing the same as I did the week before...or have a missed something !!!

Anyway all that is now resolved as we have the save function now added. This enables the user to save the "Clean" settings they are using and reload them at a later date with everything stored, including the filter settings.

If you haven't yet grabbed a copy of the Affiliate Tool you can click here to get it.

Cheers

Chris

John Burns his house down...

John should be posting this but he's left it to me to pass on this rather funny little story (Okay his house didn't actually burn down, else it wouldn't be awful funny ).

John's family live up in the North of Thailand and he pops home weekends and holidays. Every trip him he endeavours to "get a bit of something done", and last week it was all about getting a new washing machine in. So after spending the day comparing stats on spins per second, max weight, how white white and other mind numbing data he selected the machine that fell into the "About the right price" and plunked down the cash.

Next day machine arrives with "Electrician/plumber" to set it up, after an hour of fiddling and playing with stuff the "Electrician/plumber" declared the job done, demonstrated that turning it on would in fac start the machine and went home.

John, fancying himself as a bit of a handyman, took one look at the electrics and thought he better rip it all out, put in new plugs and wiring. Several hot hours later it was all done, nice new cables, new plugs, sockets the lot, wonderful job finished under the 45 degree celcius sun.... just needed to test it....

Now John claims that at this that the sun got so hot that it was infact the sun that caused the the eletrical cables to then catch fire, shooting flames and sparks from the side of the house as the cable burst into flames and headed towards to ceiling.... after a second of utter amazement John reacted rather nimbely and pulled the circuit breaker...but not before the entire fuse board blew taking out aircon, water and high speed internet.

Things that might have run through ones mind at that point might have ranged from "Gosh that was lucky!" to "Cripes I need a beer" to "Aaaaaaaaaaagh".... what was John's thought.... "Crap there goes my Internet connection!" :D

Spent the rest of the weekend at an Internet cafe doing a rocketing 56k.

Happy New Year ... We survived

Well I'm happy to see that all the AMWSO staff arrived back safely from the New Year "fun". The Thai year used to be a very cultural and was focused around families paying respects to their elders, by pouring scented water onto the hands of their parents and grandparents, however it's now become a week of chaos, in in many cases terror and horror, where drink driving and finding new ways to inflict pain on the targets of water guns has increased each year, this year reaching a peak of people spraying diluted acid from water guns.... Happy new year.

14,000 people injured in auto accidents and 481 dead so far... I'm not sure how that compares to the New Years chaos of other countries but it does seem a bit steep to most of us here.

Anyway New Year here was a week away from the office and we're all now back with mail boxes full of correspondance and queues of affiliates waiting for approval, the downside of doing manual approvals :D

April has been a pretty quite month overall with GoodTimes Entertainment being the main pace setter, but as we head into Summer we're looking for United Shades, KegWorks and DriveWerks to pick up the pace as they come into season, and of course wedding season is coming which means Mondera will be a prime player.

New on board we have JobsinSports.com, a long time partner of CJ and Shareasale.com, in fact the longest active client of Shareasale.com... and pretty much amongst CJs first clients too, we've got a bunch of developments coming from them and if you are keen to support a network that is dedicated to being parasite free then please take a chance to support Shareasales oldest client too.

Visa application went in last week too.... it'll be interesting to see how long the HLS hold a grude..
