Norton Blocks based on Image File Name
Maybe I'm about 3 years behind on this little fact, but I thought I'd share it anyway. While playing with a cool tool at SilkTide I found that our site had a score warning due to 'Use of advertising keywords' in image names, detailed as follows :
We found that one or more of your pages contains an image named with a advertising word (e.g. "banner" or "advert"). These files are likely to be automatically blocked by popular advert blocking software, such as Norton AntiSpam.I always thought banners were blocked on banner size... live and learn... :)

Yeah, I've even wondered if they read words in the directory like ...banners/whatever.jpg

For some of us that are more computer challenged :) could you please explain a bit more about this. Especially is there any way to stop it from happening with links by adding or removing something from them without altering their tracking.
Thank you:)

Hi,
In this case the simple solution is to not put banners in directories that have names that are easy to associated with banners, i.e. call the folder /stuff/ rather than /banners/ and then call the banners by names that don't use common ad related words.
