McDonalds. Shocked by Customer Service!

We all know McDs as the place for fast as can be done, no nonesense service. Where service is limited to taking an order, fulfilling an order and then bringing it to your table if your Big Mac won't be ready in the next 60 seconds...

So last weekend I got a shock...

Strolling in to the McDonalds near the local Sky Train station with my daughter and niece in tow, carrying a number of bags ready for their bus trip down to stay with Granny, I attempted to make my order.... as I started a nice young lady interrupted me and asked me to sit down... I must admit I was confused, resisted, checked for her United Airlines ID and made a quick look around for someone rushing up to take me down... but no I was ushered over to a table where a Menu was presented to me, orders were taken and the delivered to our table. Service was somewhat slower than the usual DIY system, but certainly with two kids and a bunch of bags in tow I was very happy for the extra wait.

The question I ask myself though is why was I singled out for this service, Kids, Bags, Foreign Person... no idea because although I watched while we were eating no one else got the same service....Maybe you have to be "Foreign with kids and bags" to qualify, but sure as heck I felt very special.

So what's that got to do with Affiliate marketing. Every affiliate wants to get special service, to feel like they are the most important person an Affiliate Manager deals with, would you want to have an AM from the UA school of customer care or McDonalds? Unlike both of these services Affiliate Managers have the luxury of distance and email to mean they don't need to deal with "in your face" demands, so there should never be a reason for an Affiliate Manager to not treat each affiliate as special, no matter where they rank on the revenue table.

Nice that you were able to learn and realize that there was something to be learned.

Most of life's "true" lessons are not learned in some school, or pay a Million Dollars to attend my seminar on Affiliate management, but rather learned in the simplist ways, and at the most unexpected moments.

You also know when those special moments come, because just as you have explained, you were able to make an immediate realization of how to impliment your lessoned learned into your daily life. Congrats on also teaching what you have learned.. it keeps the cycle going.

Ya MacD is pretty good. Here Germany, same thing like you. If busy get sit down and they bring meal to you. Not matter if black or white.

Mickeys is pretty good. Their franchise has some pretty stiff guidelines that you have to follow in order to get the franchise. They want them to be the same the world-over.
I do have to say that their lettuce is crap if you order the chicken burger. It always looks like its about 2 weeks old. Other than that - they are spot on.

MAC has destroyed the family. Used to be a time where everyone ate dinner around the table. Now, everyone eats whenever. The have destroyed the "American Way of Life." and now they are spreading their disease to the rest of the world slow and sure.

The spread a battery to me. My son was playing a game and the battery died. He soon started crying. A nice girl went from MacDonalds went over to a drawer and got a new battery for him. Made him really happy - a got them another loyal customer in the future.

"Spread a battery?" What is that? I hate McD, Burger King is much better.

I also prefer Burger King but so far not experienced a better level of service there.

"Spread a battery?", I'd imagine was meant to be "spared" :)

Oh come on - Burger King is the worst. Those rediculous KING hats are bullocks. I would be happy with a happy meal anyday -

This was taken while I was in Bulgaria and expresses my feelings on the matter quite clearly.

I have always been happy with McDonald s until last week. I purchased a Fish Sandwich and asked for a piece of lettuce. A reasonable request since Burger King and Jack In The Box always include lettuce in this item. The Server took my sandwich to the kitchen and returned it with a piece of lettuce that barely covered half of the bun. For this I was charged an extra 25 cents. I paid it, but I am still outraged.

As I climbed the stairs to McDonalds at Metro Plaza near Regal Cinema in Colaba Mumbai India, the smell of stale food pervaded. The burger which came with my meal had a generous helping of veg garnish{Veg Meal}and believe me the vegetables definitely hadnt been washed and dried. The smell was distinctive.Im an ailing woman and if I should end up with a stomach problem it is certainly thanks to you.

About two months ago I noted at two different McDonalds in Eugene, OR that the cooks were handling frozen meat and then immediately started handling already prepared food. Called the franchise representative and had a long discussion, was given the impression she would resolve the problem regarding possible cross contamination of food. WELL this morning at thier 28th and Willamette restaurant I viewed the cook using here bare hands putting on hamburgers to cook and then immediately started taking biscuits out of a tray. If all McDonalds are like these it isn't safe to eat there anymore.

I go to a local McDonalds in Erie PA at West 26th and Zuck Avenue. My disappointment continues on a daily basis. The place is always frigidly cold and the door handles are broken and the floor is coming apart and the roof leaks all of the time!! The owner refuses to listen to any compaint and adamantly refuses to do anything to resolve these severe problems!!

I just left McDonalds at 21st and Shadeland Ave, Indpls.
Posted biscuit and gravy $1.69 charged $1.79 - when I asked why the difference in price I was passed off finally to the hispanic manager on duty, Sandra.
Initially she refused to give eye contact, then said nothing walked away. I waited full two plus minutes. Went to the register she had gone to and asked if I was going to get my correct change back- pointing yet again to the sign on the menu board. "Its in the computer" no apology, "next, May I take your order" to the next person".
I would think McDonalds would impart better training for managers- apparently not.
As for the biscuits in gravey. The taste is fine, but what a chincy serving of gravey, bareley enough to cover the seperated biscuit.
NO Value here! No Customer Service = Not going back!
Spend Millions on advertisements, hire workers that english is definitly their second language, robotize them ignore customer service training. And bait and switch pricing.

I'm glad that other parts of the country have great Mc Donalds to go to, but in Douglas Arizona its a real bad experience. They usually forget to put items in your bag and expect you to go back to get your items withour a apology. If you bring it up to the manager you must be able to speak spanish because she does'nt speak english. Also let me not forget to tell you that if you go inside to place the order, the clerk takes your order and money push's you aside and takes other orders while you wait and until they have four customers waiting then they will start filling your order. The worst part is you pay for your fries and only get half of bag of fries, so should only pay half price for the half fries. I grew up with McDonalds but from now on I will never go back to the one in Douglas Arizona.
